TAMPA – The rafters of Amalie Arena welcome new company on Saturday night in what will be a special ceremony.

Former Tampa Bay Lightning captain Vinny Lecavalier will be the guest of honor in a pregame ceremony that will begin at 6 p.m. prior to the Lightning hosting the Los Angeles Kings. Lecavalier, the all-time franchise record holder in goals and games played, will see his No. 4 officially retired by the franchise that drafted him first overall in 1998.

Lecavalier’s number will sit, fittingly, next to the No. 26 owned by longtime Lightning teammate Marty St. Louis, who became the first player in franchise history to have a jersey number retired last season.

Lecavalier left quite a legacy in Tampa Bay and had an impact on French Canadian players currently in the NHL, including two on the current Lightning roster.
