The numbers don’t lie.
Tampa Bay played eight consecutive games on the road. It’ll be exactly 21 days between home games by the time the Lightning host Vancouver on Thursday night.
Up and down the Eastern seaboard. Up and out to the west coast, traversing through Canada. The Lightning logged more miles than Clark Griswold and family on their memorable vacation.
And the way it ended for the Lightning on Monday in Edmonton, it had the feel of arriving at to the park only to see “We’re closed’’ greeting them at the entrance. And the way Tampa Bay played, perhaps it would have been better if they just turned around and headed home early, because it turned in to the Connor McDavid show in a 6-2 loss.
