Something appears to be emanating out of the Tampa Bay Lightning locker room, and head coach Jon Cooper thinks it carries quite the stench at the moment.
Following a 6-3 loss to the Ottawa Senators, Cooper set the tone of the normal postgame media conference right off the bat. Cooper did not field any questions about the turnovers, the poor defensive zone coverage or the wasted three-goal comeback following a late third-period meltdown.
Instead he delivered a pretty poignant postgame message about the state of the team, and this time there was no tongue-in-cheek tone as he didn’t hold back in addressing the situation he sees permeating as the Lightning hit the halfway point of their season.
