TAMPA - Saturday night at Amalie Arena was Gasparilla theme night.
The Tampa Bay Lightning wore special pirate themed jerseys for warmup. Pregame video graphics were in old world lettering and treasure map scrolls. From Paul "Shipwreck" Porter on the PA system and Greg "Peg Leg" Wolf as the in-arena host, there were plenty of shiver-me-timbers moments as Tampa Bay faced the Vegas Golden Knights.
And it seemed fitting that for two periods, the Lightning were not able to decipher the map that led to buried goals before nearly stealing the treasure of two points.
