TAMPA – In the pre-COVID hockey season, the Tampa Bay Lightning had four players reach the 20-goal mark before the world hit the pause button.
In Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals, the Lightning were missing three of those players, and still put together a strong enough effort to grab a 3-0 series lead. If not for the most dangerous opponent the Lightning tend to face, things could have finished differently and the tone of the series would be much, much different.
But Tampa Bay ran into the Lightning, and, well, that was the biggest reason for the result.
