Tampa Bay Lightning complete weekend sweep, create a gap

NEWARK, N.J. - The Tampa Bay Lightning left town Friday looking as if their heads were hanging in defeat. Some suggested their tail was between their legs.

The season was over and the sell off was all but imminent.

The team had just lost three consecutive games on home ice, allowing 18 goals. The most stinging setback was on Thursday against a Washington that was chasing them in the standings, allowing the Capitals to move to within five points instead of stretching the lead to nine points.
