TAMPA – The life cycle of an NHL training camp breaks into segments.
With a relatively short time compared to the other top pro leagues, there's a lot to get in and a short time to be prepared for the start of the regular season, which for the Tampa Bay Lightning comes on Oct. 12 at home against Pittsburgh.
For the Lightning, phase two of their training camp wrapped up following preseason game No. 4 in Nashville on Saturday, a 6-1 loss to the Predators.
The final phase begins on Monday when the team gets down to more of a core part of the team.
