Small details cost Tampa Bay Lightning in tight game

TAMPA - Monday night at Amalie Arena was not a playoff game.

Well, in a sense, it was a playoff game for the Tampa Bay Lightning opponent because a loss by the Detroit Red Wings would have ended their season for all intents and purposes. But for the Lightning, the result only held playoff implications.

So the fact that the Tampa Bay Lightning did not get the result - which snapped a nine-game point streak by Tampa Bay - in the grand scheme of things didn't have much of an affect on their playoff positioning.

But there was a bit of a bigger picture approach to the game for the Lightn...
