TAMPA - Scars tell tales of wounds from the past.
They serve to remind us of what happened when times were tough.
But those scars hardened us, build up a resolve so that when times get tough again, we get tougher.
We might rub across them, feel the tissue that has risen just above the surface of the skin and get reminded of how it got there in the first place.
So when the time arrives and the triumphs of the present bring about the joy of victory, those scars remind us of what happened in the past that carried us to this point.
