Hats rain down as Tampa Bay Lightning cap homestand on Point

TAMPA - The Tampa Bay Lightning needed a spark on Thursday.

Closing out a five-game homestand against the New York Rangers, the Lightning showed little life for 30 minutes. The Rangers entered Thursday on a roll with 14 wins in 17 games. In the past three games they allowed one goal.

New York started the game on a roll. They were dominating the game. Tampa Bay had little puck possession. When they had the puck, it was rolling off sticks. Passes were not connecting. It was a lot of time spent defending, finally clearing the zone and heading off for a change.
