TAMPA – There are a million reasons to fall in love with the game of hockey.
Tuesday's Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals in not one of them, especially for fans of the Tampa Bay Lightning, was not one of those games.
Because for more than 90 minutes a team can remain disciplined, structured and play great defensive hockey only to see a unfortunate break deny the opportunity to advance to the Stanley Cup Final. One team can put themselves into position to make everything go right, only to see one moment go wrong.
The game, even in it's beauty, can be downright ugly.
