OTTAWA - For the better part of two days the Tampa Bay Lighting sat on a third period where they gave away two points.
Watching that game get away in the manner in which it did looked uncharacteristic for a team that has made a habit of knowing how to close out games when they have a lead entering the third period. That loss in Columbus marked just the fourth time since 2019 in which the Lightning lost a game in regulation when entering the third period with the lead.
What they needed heading into Ottawa on Saturday was an answer because Thursday's result led to plenty of questions....
