TAMPA - When Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Julien BriseBois sat down with the hockey operations staff after Tampa Bay was eliminated from the playoffs, an autopsy of the roster.

For lack of a better term, the cause of defeat focused primarily on one specific area - defense.

"We needed a top four defenseman,'' BriseBois said.
