Sergachev’s return means more than morale boost for Tampa Bay Lightning

TAMPA - Mikhail Sergachev surprised the hockey world on Saturday just by stepping on the ice for pregame warmup.

It was a move many outside the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey operations department didn't feel was possible. The surgery Sergachev underwent on January 8 was believed to be more extensive than that underwent by Tampa Bay captain Steven Stamkos in November of 2013 and the rehab was thought to be more extensive.
