TAMPA – After leading the league in scoring the previous three seasons, the Tampa Bay Lightning took a tumble this season, falling all the way down to eighth.
After averaging between 3.47 and 3.89 goals per game the past three seasons, Tampa Bay dropped to 3.21 this season.
In the six-game playoff series victory against the Florida Panthers, the Lightning averaged 4.00 goals per game, which is second behind only Colorado among the 16 playoff teams.
The one common denominator between those league-leading teams and this playoff team is 86.
