Tampa Bay Lightning make major moves at NHL Draft

TAMPA - The Tampa Bay Lightning made a major move at the start of Day 2 of the NHL Draft that has moved one of their top core players.

The Lightning traded 26-year-old defenseman Mikhail Sergachev to the Utah Hockey Club (former Arizona Coyotes) in exchange for defenseman J.J. Moser, forward Conor Geekie, a second-round pick in 2025 previously acquired from Toronto and seventh-round pick in the 2024 draft, the 199th overall pick.

Sergachev is entering the second year of an eight-year contract that carries a salary cap hit of $8.5 million, which is the fourth-highest cap hit on the team....
