Tampa Bay Lightning make major cuts from training camp

TAMPA – The Tampa Bay Lightning cut training camp in half on Monday as the start of the regular season draws near.
With the Oct. 12 season opener - and banner raising - against the Pittsburgh Penguins on the horizon, the Lightning are making the final preparations to get the roster ready. With three more preseason games left and final roster decisions to be made, Tampa Bay heads to the final week of camp with 32 players still on the active roster, with that number expected to drop by a handful more soon as the Lightning announced 22 cuts on Monday.
