TAMPA – On the lookout to add defensive depth ahead of Monday's NHL trade deadline, the Tampa Bay Lightning did just that Sunday evening.
And Tampa Bay did so without giving up any assets in the process, outside of salary cap space, in what is a low risk move to add a right-handed shot defenseman with size.
With a banged up blue line that has two regulars out of the lineup and another questionable, the Lightning could use the depth.
