TAMPA – The Tampa Bay Lightning have extended the contract of head coach Jon Cooper, the team announced on Tuesday.
The storyline has been following around the team all season that Cooper was in the final year of his contract, similar to Barry Trotz, who left the Washington Capitals last season even after winning the Stanley Cup. Trotz would move on join the New York Islanders this season and as his new team on the verge of making the playoffs.
But any speculation of Cooper leaving were put to rest as the Lightning inked their head coach to a multiyear extension as he has guided the Lightning ...
