TAMPA – Though Saturday was Leap Day on the calendar, for Steven Stamkos it must have felt like Groundhog Day.
For the fourth time in his 12-year career, Stamkos will miss significant time due to injury, this time with a core muscle issue which requires surgery that will keep him out until at least mid-April.
Unfortunately for Stamkos, he's been down this path before.
Stamkos is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks, which means he will the rest of the regular season and most likely the start of the playoffs, which are scheduled to begin the week of April 6. Stamkos missed three games earlier...
