TAMPA – As the NHL trade deadline passed on Monday, the biggest news for the Tampa Bay Lightning did not involve any moves made by the team, but rather the move that was made 48 hours prior.
And just like last season, when the Lightning made a big move a few days before the deadline, Tampa Bay did pull off a deal with San Jose on trade deadline day.
But the day for Tampa Bay was all about seeing David Savard on the ice for the first time wearing a Lightning jersey in anticipation of making his debut against Nashville on Tuesday and who he might be paired with when he steps into the lineup.
