Jon Cooper, Steven Stamkos offer updates on captain’s status and a “light at the end of the tunnel”

TAMPA – The return of the National Hockey League continues to creep closer with some plans coming into focus.
The only thing missing is a target date for when it all can come together.
But when it does, the Tampa Bay Lightning know that captain Steven Stamkos will be ready to go when the pause button is hit and play is allowed to resume once again.

Stamkos underwent surgery on March 2 for a core muscle injury. At the time of the surgery, Stamkos was expected to miss 6-8 weeks, which would have kept him out until anywhere from April 13-26, which could have forced him to miss the first round ...
