SUNRISE – Daniel Walcott bumped a few shoulders in the visiting team tunnel inside BB&T Center during pregame on Monday. A few moments later, he sprinted on to the ice by himself to get the typical rookie solo lap treatment for an NHL debut.
About 30 minutes later, Walcott lined up at center ice to take the opening faceoff and helped make NHL history in what is believed to be the first time a team has started a line consisting of three black players, joining Gemel Smith and Mathieu Joseph before the puck dropped in the regular season finale for the Tampa Bay Lightning against the Florida Panth...
