TAMPA - The Tampa Bay Lightning this week, on the ice, looked sluggish and stale.
The team has just one win in the past four games, and one could successfully argue they didn't really deserve to win that one game, either. Shots against have been piling up. Lulls at points in games have seen opponents cave the Lightning in and score goals, seemingly, at will.
Factions of the fan base are genuinely displeased, ready to pounce on the panic button while conjuring up scars from four years ago. The past few games even had head coach Jon Cooper saying that part of the team's game right now "sucks".
