Tampa Bay Lightning make cuts, set season-opening roster

TAMPA – October is upon us.
You wouldn’t know it from the oppressive heat still radiating down on the Southern region of the U.S., but hockey season is upon us. The preseason is complete and now it’s time to get down to business for real.
While the NHL season officially kicks off on Wednesday, the Tampa Bay Lightning will not be in action until Oct. 6 with the season opener at home against Florida.
Ahead of that, the Lightning made final roster moves on Sunday ahead of Tuesday’s deadline and, barring any unexpected waiver transactions between now and then, Tampa Bay has set it’s opening night ...
