Not sure where the term “86” originated. We all know it means to do away with something. “I’m going to 86 this project” or “I’m going to 86 this guy right out of my store”.
In today’s NHL, the term 86 is taking on a whole new meaning. Mainly, because Nikita Kucherov wears the number 86 and he is leading the high powered offense of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
