TAMPA – Jack Eichel returned to the ice on February 16th with his new team, the Vegas Golden Knights. This was after neck surgery, three months’ recovery, and a public disagreement with his old team, the Buffalo Sabres.
The Sabres and Eichel already had a deteriorating relationship prior to the disagreement regarding the surgery for the neck injury, which turned out to be the straw that broke the camel’s back (neck?). The Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) pertaining to player medical issues is front and center in this disagreement.
